Hey There!  

We’re so glad you decided to visit and get acquainted. And you might be glad to find that Your Best Sugar is no fish tank free-for-all, or gigantic psychological experiment to tell you who to date and who not to. Nope. We're a small, friendly dating community where who you are comes first!

Shared Experience Runs Deep
Because we share the common experience of diabetes, so much goes without saying. A deeper understanding, acceptance, and compassion for ourselves and others comes through the courageous successes and humbling failures we know so well with chronic illness. That's what makes for a warm, supportive community, happier dating, and the best love anyone could dream of. Now it's time to experience the joy of diabetes.

We really want you to have a great experience here. If there is some way we could make it better we hope you will drop us a line or fill out our survey so this site and community really serves everyone who is a part of it as best as possible.

Our Hopes and Aims
Over time, we also want to know how you’re doing. What are your experiences? One of our biggest goals for 2010 is for at least one couple to become engaged as a result of this community and site. Maybe it will be you… Let us know!

Another one of our dearly held objectives is for many, many friendships to come out of Your Best Sugar over time – knitting together our incredible community of people with diabetes and all who love and support them/us.

With diabetes in particular, we stack the odds overwhelmingly on our side by generously sharing information and support. No doubt about it. Love is still magic here.

P.S. You don’t have to be single to join Your Best Sugar. Some of our favorite members are interested only in friendship and community, and are happily engaged or married. Let everyone know where you’re coming from. Honesty works. The community will help you connect.

P.P.S. You don’t actually need to be diabetic, to join us either. As long as you are friendly, and have an understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of folks with diabetes, you are warmly welcomed as one of our own. Come on down.

P.P.P.S. And while we’re at it, there is no age limit on the high-end either. We just want you to find your match. We don’t tell you who is allowed to be your soul-mate and who isn’t. Invite your friends. The more the merrier!

 
   
 
Why We're Doing This

We believe in the immense influence of loving relationships to make our world happier, more fulfilling, and fundamentally more humane.
Love gives us a bigger stake in society really working — now and into the future. It brings out some of our best human qualities, especially warmth, compassion, altruism, playfulness, healing. And frankly, there’s just a big deficit of love being expressed out there, and a whole lot of loneliness that doesn’t have to be if we remove the barriers that keep us apart.
Closer to home, diabetes and its complications have the capacity to isolate or unite us. We don’t connect through our towering strengths so much as through our honest vulnerability of being fully human. That is a doorway to meaningful connection.
The intention of Your Best Sugar is – through love – to transform the experience of diabetes from a disaster into a delight, from a bother into a blessing.
And that is something we really want to be a part of, and we hope you will too.
